Welcome to the International Summer Opera Festival of Morelia.
This annual festival, now in its ninth year, brings together young singers from across the globe for three weeks of rehearsals, masterclasses, private instruction, recitals and concerts, culminating in fully-staged performances (with orchestra) of two classics of the opera canon: Gaetano Donizetti's charming L'elisir d'amore and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's sublime Così fan tutte.
The festival concludes with the Opera Gala, another opportunity to hear opera favorites in arias and ensemble work.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and founder/president of the International Summer Opera Festival of Morelia, on 04 April 2025. Juan's deep passion for all of the arts, but especially vocal music and opera, drove him to create art of the highest caliber, and to develop opportunities for young singers to develop their craft.
The 2025 Festival is being planned to honor Juan's great legacy and body of work.
